Grandview Atami Private Hot Spring Condominium Hotel - Atami (Shizuoka)

We felt misled by photos online. Staff only accepted cash and wouldn't accommodate room changes. Future guests should be aware of the treacherous entrance steps and the less-than-inviting onsen.

The venue is fairly clean and big with amicable and excellent staff members. Magnificent location - so close to the beach and the station, train station, and another transport from Atami station. Also, on a hill...

Food was local, staff was consistently courteous. The room was clean and cosy, loved it. Kitchenette was included.

Families with kids will love it

The room seemed like an apartment, spacious and cozy, perfect for our family needs.

Not exactly a steal, but still reasonable for the experience.

The room condition was disheartening. It had visible damage and a musty smell, made it quite uncomfortable. The balcony was too narrow and stained, giving an uninviting atmosphere. Access to the hotel was tricky, with poor signage and steep, hazardous steps, made lugging luggage a challenge.

The location is terrible, hidden behind backroads that are almost impossible to navigate, and the room had a horrible smell of mould that was inexcusable. I was also disappointed there was no complimentary gesture for such inconveniences. I almost wrote a positive review but just couldn't.

The stay was quite nice primarily due to the size of the room, which felt spacious and included a kitchenette with a fridge and microwave. The building's overall condition left something to be desired, with a dated vibe and issues such as yellowed walls. Despite its downsides, the location was convenient with nearby attractions like the Tanna Shrine only a short drive away, making it easy to get around and explore. After a busy day, heading to the nearby beach for some fresh air was a nice escape too.

The private onsen was relaxing, but the room definitely had a musty smell.

All fine, but safety concerns

The spacious room offered a cozy atmosphere, perfect for family relaxation. We enjoyed the friendly staff, and the private hot spring bath was good. Plus, it was just a short stroll to the nearby beach.

Entrance could use better signage and perhaps a more accessible pathway.

The hot bath was a fantastic way for everyone to relax after a day of exploring.

My wife says that the location is a bit tricky to navigate, especially for families with children.

The Japanese-Style Standard Room is spacious, easily fitting multiple large suitcases, and comes with cooking facilities. The traditional Japanese bathroom setup is nice, and the addition of a QR code system for the private baths is pretty clever. I couldn't use the baths due to the rain, so that was a bummer. Staff only accept cash, which feels a bit dated compared to other places whose transactions are seamless now.

The superior twin room with sea view was fine and spacious, just like the pictures. I loved the in-room open-air onsen bath! It's also a quick walk to the beach, fantastic. Breakfast was good, and the free wifi was a plus!

I loved that this place had a perfect location with a sea view on the roof, also it's close to the beach and train station.

The rooms here are large and offer a great view of the port, plus the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.
